| 2000 |
Began researching the vampire book market. Discovered eBooks and
e-publishing. Submitted The Murder Game to Dancing Willow
Publications. It was accepted. In response to request to do a murder
mystery game for a promotion, began working on Killers International.
Rewrote Eyes of Truth. |
| 1997 - 1999 |
Novelist
|
| 1999 |
Submitted Eyes of Truth to
Tor, who rejected it. Tried to
find an agent to market it and my vampire series, but without success. |
| 1998 |
Though I was unsuccessful at finding an agent and marketing The
Murder Game, I completed Eyes of Truth, a fantasy murder mystery.
I also had the fantastic experience of finishing the first draft of four
50,000+ novels in less than four months. Writing my Vampire series, Midnight
Blood, was like no other writing experience. |
| 1996 |
Completed The Murder Game. Submitted to Harlequin. It was
rejected. Created murder mystery game Killers International for a
friend’s birthday. Explored marketing, but abandoned the idea. |
| 1990 - 1996 |
Work Experience |
|
Because of the financial and family situation, I worked as a secretary
through a temporary service. I gained a variety experience working for a
medical laser company, environmental section of a large landfill, a
government program dealing with prescription drug reform, the Secretary of
State’s office in the Capitol building, and a prison farm. I developed my
short story skills. Although not yet published, Marion Zimmer Bradley did
hold two fantasies for consideration. |
| 1988 - 1996 |
>Staff Researcher and Writer
|
|
Supervisor, Walter Kleine. Worked on 5 real estate book projects for Dave
Del Dotto Enterprises and Earl Manning |
| 1981 - 1988 |
Writing Apprenticeship
|
|
During this period, I took lots of classes, joined writers critique
groups, and concentrated on really learning the craft of writing. Wrote
Science Fiction and screenplays. |
| 1998 |
Completed a Star Trek novel, The Addonian Affair. After it
was rejected by Pocket Books, it was published as a fanzine by Marion
McChensey in 1989. |
| 1988 |
My article "Just for Fun: How to Create Murder Games"
was published by Writers Digest, and later reprinted. Began working on a
Romantic Suspense novel, The Murder Game for Harlequin. |
| 1982 |
Completed my first novel, Pools Of Love. Studied romance
writing with Erna Holyer. |
| 1975 - 1981 |
My Religious Period
|
|
Unity School of Christianity, Unity Village, MO / Unity Christian
Fellowship, Sheboygan, Wi -- This was my introduction to nonfiction
writing. Was published in Unity Magazine, wrote scripts for a religious
radio spot, and wrote and edited a monthly church newsletter.
I also became seriously interested in writing professionally. I started
to write novels, focusing on regency romances.
